Make A Wish!

We are so excited that Emma has been accepted into the Make a Wish program of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I never dreamed that I would have a child going on a Make a Wish trip!

Once Emma had her second failed decannulation we knew something wasn't right. We knew that a second opinion was needed. We decided to go to another Boston hospital and found out after some testing that Emma's vocal cords are paralyzed. When we tell people they say "she talks though", yes she does talk but her voice quality is not very good. We learned that her left vocal cord has complete nerve damage and the right has slight nerve damage. The good news is maybe one day her right vocal cord might work again. Jon and I are weighing our options and have not decided on what we should do. With the vocal cord issue this may be one but not the only reason she has failed decannulation.

When all this sad news was coming at us we heard from one of our wish granters! They were excited to come over and meet Emma and find out what her wish would be!

Emma's amazing wish granters!

Emma was given many gifts and some for Drew too! Then came the list of questions, Emma's favorite things! This is when Emma got shy! Finally after pulling the toys away a little voice said "I want to go to Disney World with my trach!"

As of now we are waiting to hear back of our dates for our amazing trip to come!
